A floor plan from your point cloud, reviewed and ready.
Scan to Building Plan turns a registered point cloud into a dimensioned PDF floor plan — the fastest of our three output tiers, and the one most teams start with for space planning and due-diligence.
How the options compare
Where Scan to Building Plan fits against drafting it yourself
| In-house drafting | Outsourced draughtsman | Scan to Building Plan | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Speed | Slow — competes with other work | Days to weeks, queue-dependent | Same week |
| Cost predictability | Staff time, hard to quote | Quoted per job, variable quality | Fixed quote before you commit |
| Consistency | Varies by drafter | Varies by vendor | Same reviewed pipeline every time |
| Scalability | Limited by headcount | Limited by vendor capacity | Scales with scan volume |
| Data handling | In-house | Shared with a third party | Point cloud stays yours; ask about retention |

Scan to Building Plan, specifically
How is Scan to Building Plan different from Scan to CAD?
Scan to Building Plan delivers a dimensioned PDF — read-only, fastest to produce. Scan to CAD adds an editable DXF/DWG file with layers mapped to your drawing standard, for teams that need to keep working in the file.
Can I upgrade to CAD or Draft BIM later?
Yes — the underlying review doesn't need to be redone. Ask us to carry a completed Scan to Building Plan job forward to CAD or Draft BIM.
What if my point cloud isn't registered yet?
If you don't have a registered scan, start with Site Scan instead — we'll capture and register the site for you, then carry it straight into Scan to Building Plan.
